"Our Family Protecting Your Family"
Brian Smith would like to thank everyone that helped make our haunted house a huge success this
year.  A great big "thank you" goes out to the public that supported us this year.  Brian reported
that we brought in 6,742.00.  We still have some expenses coming out but even with that we did
well.  Again, thanks to everyone that helped or bought tickets. (posted 11-30-08)

Update

We have taken delivery of the Ladder Truck from the City of Lufkin.
This is something I thought I would never see.  This has been made possible with the new
law that allows a City to donate equipment to Volunteer Fire Departments.
According to Chief Joe Burton, he took delivery on Monday July 14th.
There will be a period of time that the ladder truck will not be fully functional.
The truck will need some equipment put back on it as well as a fresh paint job so it
will match our color scheme of red with the white strip.  Chief Burton is hoping to
have the unit fully functional within a year.

The new building behind the station 1 is complete.  We now have two more bays
which will house the Rescue truck and the Brush truck as well as extra room for
much needed storage and a work bench.  We have also added another mobile home
to the back property.  This donated mobile home will be an addition to our annual
Huanted House.  There is still a lot of planning to do but the talke right now is to
have this second mobile home designed to be an automated self guided tour.  If
everything goes according to plans the new house should be up and running this
Halloween and i am sure you will want to make plans to attend.  Stay tuned!

Well another Halloween season has come and gone.  The Hudson Fire Department
would like to thank everyone that came out to support us.  We had an
exceptional year.  The Fire Department, with help from Hudson I.S.D. students,
brought in 10,258.00.  The Fire Department is very proud of the students that
helped and we appreciate the parents for letting them participate.  Parents, we
want you to know we are very proud of them.  Plans are already underway
for next year.  Hope to see you there!
