Hudson Fire Department
HFD K-9 SAR Explorer Youth Team
Exploring is a work-site based program of Learning for Life, a subsidary of
Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 - 20 years
old ( 15 through 20 in some areas ).

Exploring units called "Post" usually have a focus on a single career field such
as Search and Rescue, Police, Fire/Rescue, Health, Law, Aviation, Engineering
or the like, and may be sponsored by a Government or Business Entity.  Prior
to the late 1990's  the Exploring Program was the main BSA program for older
youth and included post with an emphasis on outdoor activites.

The Hudson Fire Department K-9 Search & Rescue Explorer Search & Rescue
Team ( ESAR ) is comprised of young adults who range from 14 to 20 years
of age.  ESAR members train to respond to various types of emergencies
including lost and missing persons searches within the Urban and Wilderness
Environment throughout East Texas using various Search Tactics including
specially trained K-9's.

The Hudson Fire Department K-9 Search & Rescue ESAR is the only K-9
specific ESAR Team within the Learning for Life program.
